Ray Pulver founded Upbeat Parade Productions in 2000. Ray, is an event producer and consultant specializing in parades with over 30 years of experience. He currently works with over 20 parades.
Upbeat Parade Productions is a member of the California Festivals and Events Association (CalFest) where Ray currently serves as President of their Board of Directors. Upbeat Parade Productions is also a member of the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA). We are proud to have the opportunity to work with many of the best professionals in this industry. In addition to CalFest, Ray has been actively involved with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps Organization, where he currently serves on their Board of Directors. He has also served on the Drum Corps International (DCI) Show Sponsors Task Force.
A speaker on the topic of parades and related events, Ray has spoke at Colleges, Universities, IFEA, CalFest, DCI, and Pacific Coast Judges Association classes, seminars and conventions in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Las Vegas, Omaha, Boise, San Jose and other cities throughout Northern California.
Ray has had the honor of serving as a parade float judge for several parades around the country, including the 2014 Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade in Louisville, the Portland Rose Festival, Grand Floral Parade in Portland, Oregon, the second largest all floral parade in the United States and the renown Carnaval Parade in San Francisco.
He has also been featured in Wiley Events - Event Entertainment and Production book by Mark Sonder as well as other publications distributed through IFEA and various parade related websites.
Ray has consulted on a variety of other parades in New York, Massachusetts, Nevada and Northern California. He also worked for the City of San Jose's Office of Cultural Affairs as a Special Event Coordinator, a City liaison between event coordinators and City of San Jose departments providing city services for the event.
